Gmail POP/IMAP E-mail Setting on Nokia Symbian 60 2nd Edition (Operating system)

#For Gmail 'POP3' E-mail Setting:-

*Go to "Messaging".

*Select "Option" and then "Setting".

*Select "E-mail" & "Create New Mailbox".

*Give a name to it in "Mailbox Name".

*Set ur "Access Point" of Internet.

*Set ur "e-mail address".

*Set "smtp.gmail.com or smtp.googlemail.com" as ur "Outgoing mail server".

*Set "username" & "password" of ur Gmail account.

*Set "pop.gmail.com or pop.googlemail.com" as ur "Incoming mail server".

*Set "Mailbox type" as "POP3".

*Set "Security" as "SSL" (If u use TLS here, then u'll only be able to send emails but

can't retrieve them).

*Set "Security (posts)" as 993/995.

*Select "Back" to complete the e-mail Setting.

*All other setting r upto the choice of user. (Explore them a bit & u'll come to know of

them).


#For Gmail 'IMAP' E-mail Setting:-


1. Go to "Messaging".

2.Select "Option">"Setting">"E-mail">"Mailbox".

3. If u've never setup e-mail on ur phone before, select "Yes" to define new mailbox.

If u already 've other mailboxs, Select "Option" & then "New Mailbox".

4. Select "Start" to begin the setup wizard.

5. Select "IMAP" & then "Next".

6. Enter ur full "e-mail address" (including@gmail.com) as the email address &

Select "Next".

7. Enter "imap.gmail.com" as the "Incoming mail server" & select "Next".

8. Enter "smtp.gmail.com" as the "Outgoing mail server" & select "Next".

9. Select the appropriate "Access Point" & then "Next".

10. Enter a descriptive name for "E-mail account Mailbox".

11. Once ur "Mailbox" is set up, select it from the "E-mail Mailbox setting screen".

12. Select "Connection Setting" > "Incoming email".

13. Enter ur address ('including@gmail.com' or '@your_domain.com') &

"password".

14. Select "SSL/TLS" for ur Security (ports) & define ur port as "993".

15. Select "Back".

16. Select "Outgoing e-mail".

17. Enter ur email address ('including@gmail.com' or '@your_domain.com') &

"password".

18. Select "Start TLS" for ur security (ports) & define ur "port" as "587".

19. Select "Back" & changes any other "setting" according to ur preferences.

20. Check Out.
