Google & Ovi Sync Setting for Nokia S60 Mobile Devices

Manual Google Sync Setting for S60 v2(2nd edition) Nokia Mobile

1. Select Menu>Tools/Connection>Sync.

2. Select "Option", and "New Profile" , Do not copy values from other profiles.

3. Enter a name for the "New Profile", such as "Google Sync".

4.  Data bearer:- Web/Internet.

5. Access point:- the Internet access point  for your carrier.

6. Host address:- https://m.google.com/syncml(Important to enter "https" for a secure connection).

7. Port:- 443

8. Username:- your Google account username/ID.

9. Password:- your Google password.

10. Allow sync requests:- Leave the default value.

11. Accept all sync requests:- Leave the default value.

12. Network authentication:- Leave the default value.

Press the right arrow/navigation key to setup the Application.

NOTE- You will see a list of all content types that your Phone can synchronize; however , currently Google Sync only support 'Contacts'.

a. Contacts:- select it, select "Yes", select "Remote database:- "Contacts", it needs to be spelled exactly like this (lower case), or Google Sync will not work.

Synchronization  types:- Normal/Both. 

b. Rest content settings are set as "No"

Go Back then "Synchronize".

 

Manual Ovi Sync Setting  for Symbian  S60 Nokia Mobile Devices

1. To create the profile Select "Menu", then "Contacts/Tools/Connection", then "Sync".

2. Go to "Option" & Select "New Sync Profile". Do not copy values from other profile.

3. To Configure the Sync Profile, enter the details:-

a. Sync Profile Name: Accept the Ovi service default account name.

b. Data bearer: Web/Internet.

c. Access point: the Internet access point of your carrier.

d. Host address: https://sync.ovi.com/services/syncml.

e. Port: 443.

f. Username: your Ovi Username/ID.

g. Password: your secret password given by Ovi when you add your device to Ovi.com.

h. Allow sync requests: Leave the default value.

i. Accept all sync requests: Leave the default value.

j. Network authentication: This setting depends on the details of your data connectivity service. If you select "Yes", you 've to fill also your Nokia account username & password.

Press right arrow/navigation key to Setup Application- 

 k. Contact database: Select "Yes", select "Remote address", & enter: ./Contact/Unfiled.

 l. Calender database: select it, select "Yes", select " Remote address", & enter: ./EventTask/Tasks.

m. Note database: select it, select "Yes", select "Remote address" & enter: ./Note/Unfiled.

Synchronization type: Normal/Both.

Go back to Synchronization".
